OSU items that are eligible for renewal will be automatically renewed by the system 4 days prior to the due date. If your item is no longer eligible for renewal, you will receive a courtesy notice by email four days before the due date. To view your due dates, log in to your library account or contact Circulation in person or by phone at (541) 737-7254.

Patron & Item Loan Periods

Renewals are not allowed on recalled or billed items, items loaned on an exception basis, if you have excessive library charges, or your library record has expired. Renewal will be allowed by phone or in person when you have reached the maximum renewal limit if there are no holds on the items.

Course reserves and loanable equipment renew based on availability. If there is another copy or item available, the item can be renewed at the circulation desk or by phone at (541) 737-7254.

Summit items are eligible for one 6-week renewal. Request your renewal via your library account on or before the due date. Check out our Summit FAQs for more information.

Requests for Interlibrary Loan renewals may be made online or by phone at 541-737-4488 and are subject to approval by the lending library. Please request renewals 3-5 days before the due date. You will be contacted if the library that owns the material does not allow the renewal.
