To the campus community,

At the Oregon State University Libraries, we take our work to support teaching, learning and research at OSU very seriously. We work every day to ensure that our physical and virtual spaces are safe and welcoming, and we are doing everything we can to connect our community to the resources they need. In these challenging times, the safety of our community is our top priority. For the last several months, we have maintained and expanded our digital collections and services to support the remote work being done by OSU students, staff and faculty.

In the next few months, we will be phasing in some of our in-person spaces and services. We are committed to doing this carefully and intentionally to ensure the safety of our employees and our users. We're now able to share our plans for Summer Sessions 4 and 5 and Summer Intersession. Fall term information will be coming soon. Please note that our plans are subject to change as a result of guidance and plans from the university.

July 20-September 7: Summer Terms 4-5

The Valley Library and Guin Library buildings will be closed. The Java II area will be open and available as a study space from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Monday-Friday). This space will not be staffed. There will be outdoor study spaces available on the Library Plaza.

  • We will continue our digital services including Ask a Librarian, research consultations, instruction support, and more.
  • Interlibrary Loan services will be available. We will continue to offer Scan and Deliver services, and to mail physical items to users. Summit services may resume at a later date.
  • Book drops will be open and monitored for returned items. However, due dates will be extended and users will continue to be encouraged to keep materials until the building reopens.
  • We will process purchase requests for course materials and other resources.
