Brian Davis
was hired in August to the
Center for Digital Scholarship and
Services at OSU Libraries. Brian previ-
ously worked at High Point University
and in the preservation department of
Duke University Libraries. He is the
Digital Production Unit Supervisor and
will oversee ScholarsArchive@OSU
digitization and ingest operations.
Lori Hilterbrand
returned to OSU as
our Circulation Services Unit Supervi-
sor in December. Lori comes to us
from Western Oregon State University
(WOU) where she served as the Public
Services Unit Coordinator. Previously
she served as the Circulation Supervisor
at the Corvallis-Benton County Public
Library and the
Circulation Supervisor here at the Valley
Library. Lori holds a BS in secondary
education and substantial coursework
towards an MAT atWOU.
Having served as the Circulation Ser-
vices Unit’s Library Technician 2 during

Kerri Kunda
accepted the position on a
permanent basis in January. Kerri had been with us as a
student employee when she was an undergraduate major-
ing in business administration. Following graduation, Kerri
worked as a marketing assistant in Las Vegas.
Trey Terrell
was hired in September to
the Emerging Technologies and Ser-
vices Department as our new Program-
mer/Analyst. Trey comes to us from
the College of Forestry where he
worked as a student at the IT support
desk.
Sara Q. Thompson
began work this
summer as the Reference and Instruc-
tion Librarian at OSU-Cascades in
Bend. She previously juggled library,
web, and iPad training as the Ed Tech
Librarian for Briar Cliff University in
Sioux City, Iowa. Before that she
worked closely with visiting interna-
tional librarians at the University of
Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Before that, she
studied at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande and
also worked for the Valley Library at OSU.

Cheryl Middleton
accepted the position of Associate University Librarian for
Teaching & Engagement at the Oregon State University Libraries and Press
OSUL-P in September of 2012. She holds a Masters of Library & Information
Science from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of General Science from
Oregon State University. Prior to her current position she was Head of the OSUL-
P Teaching & Engagement Department, (formally the Undergraduate Learning &
Library Information Access Department) since July 2006 and has been a faculty
member of the OSUL-P since 1995.
In this position Cheryl will provide vision, leadership, motivation and supervi-
sion for the 50 faculty and staff in the Teaching & Engagement Department, the
branch library at HMSC Marilyn-Potts Guin and the Collections & Resource
Sharing Department. In her new role she will collaborate at the campus and
consortial level to provide effective leadership and planning for innovative user services and student-focused facili-
ties. Additionally, she will focus on developing programs and resources to serve OSU’s increasingly diverse and
international population and its growing online education programs.
