The author T. Geronimo Johnson will read at the Valley Library rotunda at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 5. The reading will be followed by a Q&A and book signing.

Johnson’s most recent novel, “Welcome to Braggsville” has been long-listed for the National Book Award and for the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction. His first novel, “Hold it ‘Til it Hurts,” was a finalist for the 2013 PEN/Faulkner Award.

Sample flavors inspired by the past in this annual showcase of recipes discovered in the holdings of the OSU Special Collections and Archives (or "'Chives" for short). This year, we’re highlighting recipes featured in a 1945 wall calendar that reflects the culinary creativity of a nation facing wartime food rationing and shortages.

Join us to sample some of these prepared recipes on Friday, October 30, noon-1:00 p.m., in the Willamette Room East on the third floor of the Valley Library.
