You may appeal charges for late, lost, or damaged materials if you believe the charges have been mistakenly assessed or that circumstances warrant reduction or cancellation. To prevent interest from accruing, appeal library charges within 30 calendar days of the original billing. You will receive a response to any appeal within 1 week.
You may appeal the initial response to the Coordinator of Circulation Services. Their decision may be appealed to the Department Head and the Department Head’s decision may be appealed to the Dean of Libraries. You have 2 weeks to appeal each response and will receive a written response within 2 weeks.
For members of the university community, appeals to the Dean of Libraries shall be considered as steps in the University´s Grievance Procedure and may be continued through the remaining levels. For Community Patron Account holders, appeals to the Dean of Libraries shall constitute the end of the available appeals process within the university.
