Article Deposit Form (To deposit an article to PubMed Central and ScholarsArchive@OSU)

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Public Access Policy requires researchers with NIH funding to submit journal articles resulting from those funds to PubMed Central, a free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature. Most publishers will submit articles to PubMed Central on your behalf. If the publisher does not, you may deposit your article to PubMed Central yourself, or you may have the library do it for you, by depositing your article to ScholarsArchive@OSU and PubMed Central using OSU's Article Deposit Form. The NIH policy requires deposit upon acceptance of the article for publication.

To Deposit a Paper to PubMed Central and ScholarsArchive@OSU

Deposit all of the following files using the Article Deposit Form:

  1. the author's accepted manuscript (post-peer review, pre-typeset) version of your article,
  2. any additional files that contain figures, tables, or supplementary information that have been submitted to the accepting journal in support of the manuscript (if not already included with the above).

Deposits missing any of this information will not be processed for PubMed Central deposit.

The library will deposit your manuscript to PubMed Central AND to the ScholarsArchive@OSU institutional repository (in adherence with the OSU Open Access Policy for articles published after June 13, 2013) within 5 working days. Authors can expect the manuscript to be processed by PubMed Central in 4-6 weeks and to receive a PMCID at that time. If your publisher has submitted your manuscript on your behalf, we will check your manuscript's PMC deposit status and confirm it for you.
