Student Access to Course Reserves

If you need course reserve material, please contact the Ask a Librarian service to request access.

Library staff will ask you for the following information:

  • Your email address
  • The course designator/number of the course you are taking  (e.g., ALS101)
  • The name of the instructor for that course
  • Title of the resource needed

If you find a course reserve that is open source or free, please email valley.reserves@oregonstate.edu with the information.

Students can also submit a request to access course reserve content through the Human Services Resource Center (HSRC).

Instructors & TAs

Please use this form: Purchase Request for Collections and Course Reserves

Due to high demand and limited staffing, it is taking 5-7 days to process course reserves.
Requests will be filled in the order received. You will be notified when your materials are available.

As we respond to course reserves requests we will prioritize our work in this way:

  • First, we will try to secure licensed, digital copies of books and articles (subject to licensing and availability).
  • Second, we will scan print materials and give students access to them.
  • We will also share open materials where they are available.

We thank you for your patience as we work to provide service and deal with the problems the pandemic has caused for everyone.
Please know that we appreciate each of you and your commitment to our students.
