Do you park in the B1 lot by Tebeau Hall? Well, starting December 17th through the 19th, a portion of that parking lot will be closed for sweeping. Look for alternate parking options on those three days.
Interested in helping with the sustainability drive in the library? Then consider volunteering to help take out the composting in the staff lounge! Simply check your schedule and sign up for a week online, and then empty the container on the days you sign up for.
Vance Woods is the incoming chair of the Classified Staff Association, and Ian Scofield is the new secretary. Their tenure in those positions will start January 1st.
Mark your calendars! The new building at Hatfield will open June 8th or 9th. There’ll be an opening dedication ceremony and public tours, as well as a party on the rooftop later in the evening!
Free tickets for the 38th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. peace breakfast are now available to OSU faculty, staff and students. The breakfast begins at 9 a.m. in the CH2M HILL Alumni Center ballroom on Monday, Jan. 20, and seating is limited. After the breakfast, Raquel Willis, a black queer transgender activist, writer and the executive editor of Out Magazine, will be the keynote speaker for the celebration lecture at 11 a.m. at the LaSells Stewart Center. The keynote session is free and open to the public, and tickets are not required. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration week runs Jan. 18 through 24. This Friday is the OSULP LFA Seminar Series. Join Richard Sapon-White and Michael Boock as they talk about their experiences working in an academic library in the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria this past November. The seminar series is 10-11:30 a/m. in the Willamette classrooms.
