OHBA, raffles, and soup lunches.
The Oregon Hops & Brewing Archive (OHBA) made it into the The Kitchen Sisters blog as part of their #Keeperoftheday. Check out Tiah’s interview on their website.
Raffle! This Wednesday, February 13th, the OSU Libraries and Press and Extended Campus will be raffling off a beautiful Valentine’s Day gift basket full of goodies. While you might not be able to drink the wine at work, you can definitely share the rest of the candies with co-workers, or bring it home for the family. Tickets are $1 for 1 ticket, or $5 for 6 tickets. Look for Don or Elizabeth walking around with a roll of blue raffle tickets if you’re interested in buying one. Or just seek them out directly. The basket includes: Dark chocolate covered marshmallows, dark chocolate mint creams, milk chocolate peanut butter cups, a nutty popcorn trio (gluten free), crispy crunchy salted toffee cookies (gluten free), pure maple candy hearts, Chateau Lorane Mourvedre, and Chateau Lorane Marechal Foch Port.
Also this week is the library’s soup lunch and associated library-wide clothing exchange. Join us for some soup and treats in the library’s staff lounge at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 14th for a host of tasty-sounding soups. The suggested donation is $5, however you’re more than welcome to just join us if you can. Bowls are on sale at the office area main entrance on the 4th floor if you would like to purchase a bowl (they’ll also be available at the soup lunch as well), or you can just use one of the ones we’ll have on hand for the event. Right now the menu consists of: a veggie chili, a chicken noodle soup, a potato and carrot curry, a vegan red lentil stew, a beef stew, a lentil soup, a taco soup, and a Persian pomegranate soup. And plenty of cornbread, bread, and crackers as well.
Occurring concurrently to this is the clothing exchange in the Willamette classrooms. Are you a student preparing to enter the work force and in need of some business attire, or looking to liven up your wardrobe with something different? Than this is the event for you! Bring a minimum of 1-3 items in good repair, fit for a trade, and walk away with something of interest for yourself. Please contact Rachel Lilley or Kelly Stormking if you have questions about the event.
The library is getting a new digital poster display for the main entrance to replace the paper display. That system should be arriving sometime this week, but won’t actually go up for use until later in February or early March while all of the technical people take a look at it.
The OSU Press Spring 2019 catalog is now available online.
TIAA will be on campus throughout March to discuss retirement options. It’s never too early to start saving. Go online to register for one of their 1-on-1 consultations.
Daniel Moret and the Graphic Design Interns completed an overhaul of the brochure for the Northwest Art Collection that is throughout the library. The brochure has lists of artists and artworks and maps showing the location of each artwork. The colorful brochure is available from the brochure rack inside the Valley Library’s main entrance and the brochure rack at the Info Desk. Or from Dan.

Can you guess the animal’s person?
This is Royal. Royal is a good goat at heart, but likes to pretend she's a wild goat in order to avoid medication (seriously doc, get that needle away from me!). She has bonded closely with another kid named Trouble Maker, who is quite aptly named. This has caused Royal to get into quite a few misadventures.
Answers can be shared with colleagues and guessed among the office. Last week’s guest bookshelf was Mary Markland’s.
