Beaver football, contract info, and retirement saving
You might have heard, but there’s a football game this weekend. On Saturday, the Oregon State Beavers are facing off against the Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium. The football “civil war” has been going on for quite a while, and if you’re interested in learning more you might want to check out Brian Campf’s Sporting Oregon: A Pictorial History of Early Oregon Sports which features a good number of photos from early OAC/OSU teams.
“A perfect 6-0 record while outscoring the opposition 137-0 is the outstanding feat achieved by this 1907 Pacific Coast football championship Oregon Agricultural College team. Their victories included a 4-0 win over the University of Oregon in the Civil War game; they capped off the season with a 10-0 shutout over the previously undefeated St. Vincent’s College of Los Angeles.” – Brian Campf
