SCARC’s next Collections at the Center presentation will be November 7th at 5 p.m. in the reading room. Ted Cox, local resterauntuer and author, will be speaking on early women’s PE and athletics at OSU.
There is a system outage with BennyBuy where purchase orders are not being transmitted to vendors. The eProcurement team is working on a solution, and there will be some degradation to the system in the meantime, but you can still use it to place orders.
Speaking of BennyBuy, the eProcurement team have made some changes to the system. When searching for purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices, they have moved the custom fields section nearer the top to make it easier to find and use.

The search advocate program has an update session on current strategies to increase diversity and inclusion in faculty searches. Sign up now for their session on November 20th from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
There is a call for proposals out for the 2019 Acquisitions Institute at Timberline Lodge. The planning committee is open to Presentations and Table Talks on all aspects of library acquisitions and collection management. Presenters are encouraged to engage the audience in discussion, whether the presentation leans more toward the practical "here's what we did" sessions or toward the more abstract "here's what we think" sessions.
College of Business/Social Sciences Data Librarian – Diana Castillo was hired for this position. Her start date is October 22nd 2018. She’ll be moving to Corvallis today, October 15th. Get a hold of Jane if you want to try and help make her feel welcome in the community.

These two puppers are half siblings – they have the same mother, but a different dad, and are one year apart. You can imagine the arguments. One of the pups has an bit of a tendency to stick her tongue in other people’s mouths, especially when they’re least expecting it. They are both bird hunting gods. The one pupperonie has the nose, the other one makes sure she brings the birds back after she finds them.
Answers can be shared with colleagues and guessed among the office. Last week’s pet was Rachel Ziegler’s cat Cleocatra.
