OSU items that are eligible for renewal will be automatically renewed by the system 4 days prior to the due date. If your item is no longer eligible for renewal, you will receive a courtesy notice by email four days before the due date. To view your due dates, log in to your library account, visit the library in person, or call (541) 737-7254.

Patron & Item Loan Periods

Renewals are not available for items that loan for 2 days or less. This includes course reseserves and some equipment.  If there is another copy or item available, it can be checked out again at the Borrowing & Information Desk.

Renewals are not allowed on recalled or billed items, items loaned on an exception basis, if you have excessive library charges, or your library record has expired. 

Summit items are eligible for one 6-week renewal. Request your renewal via your library account on or before the due date. Check out our Summit FAQs for more information.

Requests for Interlibrary Loan renewals may be made online or by phone at 541-737-4488 and are subject to approval by the lending library. Please request renewals 3-5 days before the due date. You will be contacted if the library that owns the material does not allow the renewal.
