Library Faculty Seminar: Altmetrics as a Library Service (10/9)

This year’s OSU Library Faculty Seminar Series will start on October 9 with a discussion on altmetrics, a suite of web-based indicators used to measure research impact, and the potential that OSU Libraries offers with altmetrics for contents in its repositories.  

In this series, Hui Zhang and Korey Jackson will review the landscape of altmetrics, present the result of a recent survey on perception to altmetrics from OSU faculty, and lead an open discussion on the benefits and issues of providing altemtrics as a library service.  

The seminar will be held between 10-11:30 a.m. on October 9 at the Willamette Rooms on the third floor of the Valley Library.

Learn about the library’s Queer Archives

Discover LGBTQ history at OSU and the new project to document it through the Oregon State University Queer Archives. There will be a Queer Archives film screening and reception on Wednesday, October 7, 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Special Collections Reading Room on the fifth floor of the Valley Library. 

The event will include a screening of a documentary film by alumna Kiah McConnell (’15) about the LGBTQ+ community at Oregon State followed by a reception.
