4.2. Make OSU Libraries and Press evidence accessible to our
communities.
a. Preserve and make accessible our white papers,
professional reports, and assessment projects.
b. Review and refresh the evidence we share to ensure it
remains relevant and useful.
c. Use the library website to transparently share our
evidence.
d. Develop workflows that empower all library units to post
meaningful data and information about the work we do
and its impact.
e. Develop library-wide policies and processes to
ensure user data is collected and shared ethically and
appropriately.
4.3. Intentionally promote our services, resources, and successes.
a. Hire a marketing and communications coordinator.
b. Develop a cohesive communications and marketing plan.
c. Consistently communicate our stories to the Oregon State
University community and beyond.
d. Demonstrate the impact of our work with students to
current and potential donors.
e. Capture and share our users’ stories to illustrate our
impact on their success.
4.4. Examine the issues, concerns, and aspirations of our key
constituents and articulate our contribution to them from
OSU Libraries and Press’ unique perspectives.
a. Use existing Oregon State University data in new ways to
learn more about our users’ experiences.
b. Gather information from our users about their needs and
experiences at both physical and virtual points of use.
c. Assess our services and instruction by surveying recent
alumni to explore what they really need to know to
succeed beyond Oregon State University. Take what we
learn from alumni surveys to adapt and improve services
to current students.
d. Work with individuals, programs, and units supporting
OSU’s internationalization agenda, including international
students, OSU students studying abroad and OSU faculty
engaged in international research in order to ensure that
OSU Libraries and Press’ services and resources reflect the
University’s increasingly international scope.
