What does “quiet” mean to you?

At the OSU Valley Library, we recognize that what it means to be “quiet” or “silent” can be defined differently by people depending on their level of stress, tolerance of noise, study habits, learning styles, cultural backgrounds, etc. Because we are not able to create that perfect “quiet” space for each individual, we try to create spaces that encourage either individual or group study.

Because the tapping of laptop keys or the tapping of feet walking by might be too much noise for you, we lend noise canceling headphones at our public service desks on the 2nd floor.

Designated “Quiet” or “Silent” Library Spaces:

The 6th floor is designated as a quiet area and the first floor is designated as the silent area.
